課程概述 |
This course is designed to introduce DFLL students to university-level English writing. We will continue to focus on one key pattern of paragraph development, argument. We will learn to document resources in MLA style, and we will also learn to engage in academic conversations by summarizing, quoting, and responding to selected critical essays written by popular fiction writers of horror, romance, fantasy and science fiction. Students will rehearse using MLA style through two exercises and practice writing arguments through three paragraphs and three revisions. Students will also have the chance to facilitate each other’s writing processes through peer review sessions and group as well as individual presentations. Students are expected to attend regularly, to write with diligence and passion, and to show commitment to course assignments and class discussions. |
